The Highly Anticipated Grand Rapids IT Symposium Will Host 250 Local IT Executives On May 15th


The Grand Rapids IT Symposium is expected to have over 250 IT leaders from 90 local companies represented at this year's event. This one-day, executive-level event is geared toward knowledge-sharing and networking for CIO's and their direct management teams. Kicking the day off is speaker, futurist and professor Christina "CK" Kerley. CK will take you on a tour of the next-gen technologies that belong on your radar, in your plans, and at the forefront of your 2019-2020 IT goals. You don't want to miss her high-energy and highly insightful keynote presentation.

Over the lunch hour will be Scott Augenbaum, retired supervisory special agent for the FBI and author. Mr. Augenbaum will share why a transnational criminal enterprise and foreign intelligence services may want to target your organization’s data or intellectual property. This eye-opening presentation will discuss ways to ensure you are prepared. Scott has responded to hundred of data breaches and is here to show commonalities across almost all incidents. He will also provide participants with several takeaways to prevent their organization from becoming the next victim.

The closing keynote session is an executive panel titled, "If 'data is the new oil' - how are you extracting value from the data you have?" This panel of 4 West Michigan CIOs, will discuss how they have approached getting value from their data, examples of how it has impacted the business, how their organizations are becoming digitally enabled and where they are on the journey, what are they doing to help the organization know what “digital” means, where their focus has been in regards to digital transformation, and what struggles they facing to become a digitally enhanced organization.

  • Tom Farrington, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Perrigo

  • Jason Joseph, CIO, Spectrum Health

  • Jerry Winkler, VP, Global Information Systems, Haworth
